Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) announced on Tuesday that its wholly owned subsidiary, Reliance Strategic Business Ventures Limited (RSBVL), has acquired a 50.1% equity stake in Sikhya Entertainment Private Limited for ₹150 crore. The transaction, completed on February 2, 2026, involved both primary and secondary share transfers. The acquisition is aimed at strengthening Jio Studios’ position in India’s rapidly expanding media and entertainment sector.

The deal will enable Jio Studios, RIL’s media and content arm, to consolidate its presence by joining forces with one of India’s most acclaimed production houses. Sikhya Entertainment is notable for being the only Indian production company to have won both an Academy Award® and multiple National Film Awards, giving the studio strong global credibility.
Combining Scale with Creative Excellence
Jio Studios has established itself as a key player in India’s content economy, producing films that combine creative merit with commercial success. Its portfolio includes titles like Dhurandhar, Laapataa Ladies, and the Stree franchise. Under this partnership, Jio Studios and Sikhya Entertainment will co-create films and series for both domestic and international audiences, leveraging Jio Studios’ distribution reach and scale alongside Sikhya’s expertise in culturally rooted storytelling with global resonance.
