Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) has expanded its strategic partnership with US logistics software company Kaleris to accelerate AI-led transformation across its ports and logistics network. The initiative is part of APSEZ’s broader plan to invest USD 850 million in technology and decarbonisation as it targets handling one billion tonnes of cargo annually by 2030.

Under the multi-year agreement, Kaleris will deploy its AI-augmented terminal operating and optimization platform across 15 container terminals located in nine domestic and international ports. The rollout builds on earlier deployments across six ports and aims to create a unified digital backbone for APSEZ’s maritime and logistics operations.
The company expects the technology to significantly improve operational efficiency, including up to 20% higher productivity for Rubber Tyred Gantry cranes and up to 14% improvement in terminal truck productivity. These gains are expected to support APSEZ’s efforts to unlock an additional 91 million metric tonnes of cargo capacity by 2030.
APSEZ CEO Ashwani Gupta said AI-enabled automation will define the next phase of competitiveness in ports and logistics, helping improve turnaround times, productivity, and customer experience.
The deployment will also leverage artificial intelligence, IoT, computer vision, and advanced optimization tools to enable real-time visibility, smarter resource allocation, enhanced planning accuracy, and more reliable cargo movement across APSEZ’s integrated transport network.
With operations spanning ports, rail, road logistics, warehousing, and international freight networks, APSEZ is positioning itself as a technology-driven integrated transport operator while strengthening India’s role in global trade and logistics.
