Bengaluru-based Sarla Aviation has successfully completed the flight test campaign of Sylla, India’s largest and heaviest electric eVTOL (electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing) technology demonstrator. The achievement marks a significant milestone in India’s growing advanced aviation ecosystem.
Sylla is designed for urban air mobility, enabling it to take off and land vertically without requiring conventional runways. The aircraft is being developed as a foundation for future electric air taxi services capable of reducing urban congestion and offering sustainable transportation.

According to Sarla Aviation, the successful flight tests validated the aircraft’s flight control systems, electric propulsion technology and overall performance, providing confidence for the next phase of development.
The milestone strengthens India’s ambitions in next-generation aviation, showcasing indigenous innovation in electric flight technology while moving the country closer to commercial air taxi operations in the years ahead.
