Rolls-Royce is seeing a shift in its Indian customer base, with younger entrepreneurs, members of business families and buyers upgrading from other luxury car brands contributing to demand. The British luxury automaker is also witnessing greater interest in customised vehicles, reflecting changing preferences among affluent Indian consumers.

Julian Jenkins, Director of Sales and Brand at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, said the average age of a Rolls-Royce driver globally has fallen to the early 40s, around 13 years younger than in 2010. The Spectre electric coupé and Black Badge range have helped attract a younger generation of customers.
Demand for Personalised Luxury Cars
Younger customers are increasingly seeking vehicles that reflect their individual preferences through distinctive exterior colours, interior finishes, trims and bespoke features. Rolls-Royce says its strategy remains focused on value and personalisation rather than increasing sales volumes alone.
KUN Exclusive Cars, the brand’s dealer partner in Chennai, has also reported growing interest in customised specifications among customers in southern India. The demand includes personalised interiors and distinctive design choices beyond standard configurations.
Chennai Showroom Strengthens South India Presence
Rolls-Royce opened its redesigned Chennai showroom on October 15, 2026, marking a further step in its presence in South India. The facility, operated by KUN Exclusive Cars, includes a dedicated Bespoke Commissioning Atelier where customers can work on personalised vehicle designs.
The showroom also features Indian art and design elements intended to inspire custom commissions. Rolls-Royce has served customers in Chennai through its dealer partner since 2013.
India Emerges as a Growth Market
Rolls-Royce expects double-digit growth in India in 2026, according to Jenkins. The company has reported sustained growth in the market as affluent buyers seek highly personalised vehicles. It is also preparing to introduce the Spectre Series 2 electric car in India in November.
The trend reflects the expanding market for ultra-luxury vehicles in India, where younger wealthy buyers are increasingly combining premium automotive ownership with individual design preferences and customised experiences.
