Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always been vocal about local foods and is often seen interacting with Indian nutritionists and food experts. Recently, PM Modi’s team approached celebrity nutritionist Luke Coutinho to prepare meal options for the honorable PM.

In a post on his official website titled Made in India- The Modi Diet and Lifestyle Plan, Luke wrote, “We were asked to curate and design a special dish for our Honorable Prime Minister, Narendra Modi Ji, based on his favorite foods and superfoods, along with a special Modi Ji lunch and dinner menu centered around Indian superfoods to make it holistic, nutritious, and powerful. I was also requested to design key Modi Ji lifestyle tips, not just for our Honorable Prime Minister, but for our nation and the world.”
The elaborate, nourishing, and power-packed Sattvic meal is defined as Shakti Bhojan – A Wholesome Modi Shakti Thali Experience. Prepared by Luke Coutinho alongside an extensive pilot team, the detailed 8-course menu includes:
- Welcome Drink: Aam Panna (a tangy raw mango cooler) and Pudina Jaljeera with Sabja (a minty, cooling digestive drink infused with sweet basil seeds).
- Starters: Coriander-Paneer Khandvi, a soft, steamed gram flour roll infused with fresh coriander, paneer, and sesame seeds.
- Salad: Raw Papaya Carrot Sambariyo, a vibrant and lightly sautéed mix with mild tempering.
- Chutneys/Accompaniments: Peanut Chutney with Yellow Mustard Seeds and a zesty, oil-free Fresh Turmeric and Ginger Pickle.
- Main Course: A soulful spread featuring Baingan ka Bharta (smoky roasted mashed eggplant), Gavar Nu Shaak (cluster beans stir-fry), Bajra Rotla with White Makkhan (pearl millet flatbread with hand-churned butter), a choice between Steamed Rice or Jowar Moong Dal Vegetable Khichdi, and a gut-friendly Sattu Kadhi.
- Dessert: Fada Ni Lapsi, a rich Gujarati sweet dish made with broken wheat, edible gum, pure A2 ghee, dry ginger powder, saffron, and nuts, sweetened with jaggery.
- Beverage: Jeera Chaas, a gut-friendly yogurt drink infused with cumin for digestion.
- Post-Meal Mouth Freshener: Mukwaas (a fragrant digestive blend of fennel, roasted split coriander seeds, dill seeds, and flaxseeds) alongside Homemade Gulkand Paan (betel leaf filled with sweet homemade gulkand).
