Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has identified two major priorities for India: making the 350 kmph bullet train a reality and developing domestic 7-nanometre semiconductor manufacturing capacity.

Speaking in an interview with Morgan Stanley, Vaishnaw said establishing the technological base for a high-speed bullet train is among his top priorities. At the same time, India is working towards strengthening its semiconductor manufacturing capabilities and moving towards advanced 7nm technology.
The focus reflects India’s broader push to build domestic capabilities in advanced manufacturing, electronics and strategic technologies.
Vaishnaw also highlighted the country’s growing electronics manufacturing ecosystem, with mobile phone exports reaching ₹2.59 lakh crore in FY26.
