Travel platform EaseMyTrip announced plans to operate charter flights from Oman to India to help Indian nationals stranded in the Middle East. The announcement was made by founder and chairman Nishant Pitti on X (formerly Twitter), where he also urged people to join a dedicated WhatsApp channel for updates and travel support.

Support Amid Rising Tensions
These efforts come as tensions escalate in the Middle East following conflict involving the US, Israel, and Iran, which reportedly led to the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Flight cancellations have hit major hubs like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Muscat, leaving many Indians stranded. With UAE airspace under strict control, Oman has become a critical transit point for evacuations.
Travel Advisory for International Passengers
EaseMyTrip has issued a travel advisory urging international travelers to stay updated on airline schedules and maintain flexible travel plans. Several countries, including Iran and Israel, have closed their airspace for civilian flights due to the military escalation, meaning longer flight durations, delays, and schedule changes are likely.
Airports Severely Affected
Over the past three days, tens of thousands of passengers have been affected. Dubai International Airport, Abu Dhabi Airport, and Kuwait’s main airport were among the major hubs shut after airspace closures, leaving travelers stranded.
Regional Conflict and Global Appeals
The crisis escalated after joint US-Israel missile strikes on Iran on Saturday, with explosions reported in Tehran and other cities. Iran responded by targeting Israeli and US assets in Gulf states. Multiple blasts have been reported across the region.
The United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called for an immediate halt to hostilities and de-escalation, urging global leaders to act responsibly. Oman’s foreign minister, who has been mediating US-Iran negotiations, also called for a ceasefire, reporting that Iran has expressed willingness to reduce tensions.
EaseMyTrip’s charter flight initiative and support channels aim to provide timely assistance to Indians caught in the conflict and ensure safe passage home amid the ongoing disruption.
