Navi Mumbai International Airport is set to begin international passenger and cargo operations from July 15, marking a major milestone in the airport’s phased expansion. The launch is expected to strengthen Mumbai’s global connectivity and ease pressure on the city’s existing airport.

Airport officials have indicated that the first international routes are likely to focus on short-haul destinations in the Gulf region, while cargo services are expected to ramp up to around 18 weekly freighter flights. Airlines including Air India Express and IndiGo are expected to be among the initial operators.
The airport currently handles around 20,000 passengers daily and is projected to scale up significantly in the coming months, strengthening its role as a key aviation and logistics hub for western India.
The commencement of international services is also expected to boost real estate demand in nearby growth corridors such as Ulwe, Panvel, Dronagiri, Kharghar and Pushpak Nagar, which have already witnessed increased investor interest due to airport-led infrastructure development.
