The Delhi government is set to launch the ‘Mahila Samriddhi Scheme’ on March 8, offering ₹2,500 per month to eligible women through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Some beneficiaries may receive the first installment at an event expected to be held at Chhatrasal Stadium.

Who Can Apply?
Women who meet the following criteria are eligible:
- Annual household income below ₹3 lakh.
- Non-taxpayers.
- Aged between 18 and 60.
- Not employed in government jobs.
- Not receiving other government financial assistance.
How to Register?
The Delhi government is developing an online portal for applications. The IT department is also working on verification software to ensure eligible beneficiaries receive aid. Data from various departments will be used for authentication.
Required Documents
Though official details are yet to be confirmed, applicants may need:
- Aadhaar Card
- Ration Card
- Proof of Address
- Registered Mobile Number
The application will be linked to Aadhaar for verification. If duplicate applications or ineligible candidates are found, they will be rejected.
This initiative follows similar schemes in other BJP-ruled states like Madhya Pradesh’s ‘Ladli Behna Yojana’ and Maharashtra’s ‘Ladki Bahin Yojana.’ It also counters AAP’s proposed ‘Mahila Samman Yojana,’ which had promised ₹2,100 per month.
