Bajaj Auto, in its stride towards an eco-friendly transportation system, is gearing up to launch a CNG-petrol hybrid bike in June, marking a significant step in its commitment to sustainability. The company, which had earlier ventured into electric two-wheelers, is now expanding its green portfolio with this innovative offering

The upcoming bike, based on a 110 cc model, has already undergone prototyping at Bajaj’s facility in Aurangabad, with its construction now in the final stages. In addition to CNG, Bajaj is exploring the possibility of introducing two-wheelers and quadricycles powered by LPG and ethanol fuels, reflecting its dedication to alternative fuel solutions.

With an annual production target of 1.2 lakh units for the CNG bikes, Bajaj aims to further boost its manufacturing capacity to two lakh units with the commencement of production at its Pant Nagar plant. This move aligns with the company’s dominant presence in the three-wheeler segment, where it commands 90 percent of vehicle sales.

Rajeev Bajaj, Managing Director of Bajaj Auto, affirmed the company’s focus on developing a comprehensive portfolio of CNG-fueled motorcycles, with the first model set to hit the market in June. Targeting mileage-conscious consumers, the new bike promises to deliver efficiency while embracing sustainable fuel options.

However, with its CNG-petrol hybrid technology, the bike is expected to be priced slightly higher than conventional petrol models. This move reflects Bajaj’s commitment to offering environmentally conscious solutions without compromising on performance and quality.

In line with its corporate social responsibility (CSR) commitment, the Bajaj Group has also announced a CSR fund of Rs 5,000 crore for the next five years, further underscoring its dedication to sustainability and social welfare initiatives.
