Prime Minister Narendra Modi Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 in Gandhinagar said that it is the responsibility of the government that India should be a developed nation by 2047. On Tuesday, a bilateral meeting was held between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and United Arab Emirates President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan where several MoUs were signed. The UAE president is the chief guest at the 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS).
PM Narendra Modi said, “The participation of UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed in this Summit, is a matter of great joy for us. His presence as the chief guest at Vibrant Gujarat Summit is a symbol of the ever-strengthening relations between India and UAE.”
The global summit will be held from January 10 to January 12 and the theme for this year is ‘Gateway to the Future’. Dozens of global companies and partner countries are participating in the summit this year.
Amrit Kaal
The Prime Minister, while addressing the event, shared that, “In the recent past, India completed 75 years of independence. Now, India is working on its goal for the next 25 years. We have the goal of making it a developed country by the time it celebrates 100 years of independence. Therefore, these 25 years’ duration is India’s Amrit Kaal.”
Indian Economy
PM Modi said that all the major agencies estimate that India will be in the top three economies of the world in the coming years. He expressed confidence that this will happen soon, speaking on how Indian economy has grown over the last decade.
“Today, India is the fifth largest economy in the world. 10 years ago, India was on the 11th position. Today, all major agencies estimate that India will be in the top three economies of the world in the coming years. Let people across the world do their analysis, but it is my guarantee that it will happen,” PM stated.
Indian Startups
PM Modi hailed the growing startup culture and said that there are over one lakh startups in India, with investment worth billions being made in Indian ports.
Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2024 is the 10th edition of the global summit, which was envisioned under the leadership of Narendra Modi when he was the Chief Minister of the state. The 2021 edition of the global summit was cancelled by the government due to the restrictions during the Covid-19 pandemic.
In this Summit, 34 partner countries and 16 partner organizations are participating, which include a prominent group of world leaders, including Presidents, Prime Ministers, and CEOs of MNCs from many countries. During the Summit, PM Modi will hold bilateral talks with CEOs of important global firms such as Suzuki Motor Corp’s Toshihiro Suzuki, AP Moller’s Keith Svendsen, Micron Technology’s Sanjay Mehrotra, Rasna Private Limited Chairman Piruz Khambatta, and others. From India, Gautam Adani, Mukesh Ambani, and Natarajan Chandrasekaran will be among the scores of top Indian executives in attendance.
Investments
Gujarat witnessed a significant shift as major companies embraced the green energy sector. Gautam Adani’s colossal investment of two billion dollars underscores the commitment to developing sustainable energy in the state. Tata, too, is set to launch a semiconductor factory, while Maruti Suzuki is injecting a substantial investment of 35,000 crores to commence the construction of its second manufacturing unit in Gujarat. Reliance has taken a pioneering step by establishing the nation’s inaugural fiber facility center in the state.
