Edtech Unicorn Physics Wallah is out to dominate South India. The current efforts are to acquire edtech companies operating in South India as part of expanding the field of operations. Co-founder of the company Prateek Maheshwari told Business Line.
Physics Walla also plans to add counseling expertise to help students with college placements in other fields.
Started as a JEE,NEET exam preparation Institute, Physicswala today has expanded into various segments like Government Exam Coaching, School (K-12), Post Graduate Exams like GATE, Upskilling Courses and more.
In recent months, Physics Wallah has also acquired PrepOnline, Altis Vortex, iNeuron and Knowledge Planet. After acquiring UAE-based Knowledge Planet, PhysicsWala is now expanding into the Middle East and North Africa region.
Prateek Maheshwari said PhysicsWala is closely monitoring the use cases of AI tools like GPT-4 and how they impact education.
The company has developed content entirely in-house for categories like commerce, banking and MBA exam preparation, he said.
Maheshwari noted that Physics Walla is expected to generate revenue of Rs 1,200 crore in FY23 and aims to reach Rs 2,600 crore in revenue next year. However, the company’s profit margins fell to 15-20 percent last year.
