Features of e-EPIC voter card
Assembly elections are round the corner in seven Indian states. As we know, identity cards are a key factor while casting a vote. Lets know about the new e-EPIC card or the Electronics Electoral Photo Identity card issued by the Election Commission. A voter card is undoubtedly one of the most authentic address proof that we keep in our pocket.
The document is non-editable and therefore, it cannot be tampered with. This is a major advantage. The good part is that the PDF version that can be saved on our phone is valid both as an identity and address proof.
How can e-EPIC be downloaded?
e-EPIC is a secure portable document format (PDF) version of the EPIC. This can be downloaded on a smartphone or in a self-printable form on the computer. This helps the voter to store the card on his/her mobile. It can be uploaded as a PDF on Digi locker or print it and can be also self-laminated.
By doing these steps, e-EPIC can be downloaded. First, Register/Login on Voter Portal. From menu navigation click on Download e-EPIC. Then enter the EPIC number or Form Reference Number. Verify with OTP sent on registered mobile number (if mobile number registered with Eroll). Click on Download e-EPICI. If your Mobile number is not registered in Eroll, click on e-KYC to complete the KYC. Pass the Face liveness verification. Update your mobile number to complete KYC. You can then download e-EPIC.
Who can apply for e-EPIC?
All general voters who have valid EPIC numbers can apply for e-EPIC. All new electors who registered during special summary revision 2021 and whose mobile number provided while applying is unique will get an SMS and may download e-EPIC between January 25 to 31st January. Other general voters can download e-EPIC from 1st February onwards.
