The consortium of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) has secured a major contract for an automated people mover (APM) system at Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai.

The order is valued at up to ₹5,000 crore and covers the development of an automated passenger transport system within the airport.
The project is part of the massive expansion of Al Maktoum International Airport, which is being developed as a major global aviation hub.
The contract highlights the growing international presence of Indian engineering and infrastructure companies in large-scale transport projects.
For L&T, the order further strengthens its portfolio in advanced transportation infrastructure, while the partnership with MHI brings together Indian engineering capabilities and global technology expertise.
