Maya Tata, the youngest daughter of Noel Tata and a member of the Tata Group’s next generation of leadership, is set to take charge of Westside’s e-commerce marketing and digital growth. The move comes as Trent Ltd., which operates Westside, intensifies its focus on digital retail and international expansion.
Before this role, Maya worked at Tata Capital and later at Tata Digital, where she gained experience in digital commerce, customer acquisition and online retail. Her expertise is expected to strengthen Westside’s omnichannel strategy, helping integrate physical stores with a seamless online shopping experience.

Westside has emerged as one of Trent’s biggest growth engines, contributing nearly 40% of the company’s revenue. The retailer recently entered the UAE and plans to open around 50 new Westside stores annually while expanding its global footprint. Trent currently operates over 1,280 stores across 321 cities, including Westside, Zudio and Star Bazaar.
Maya Tata’s appointment is being viewed as part of the Tata Group’s long-term leadership transition ahead of Noel Tata’s retirement from Trent. While the company has not officially confirmed her appointment, industry reports suggest she will play a central role in driving Westside’s digital transformation and supporting its ambition to become a globally recognised Indian fashion brand.
