Chinese EV maker XPeng is pushing the boundaries of future mobility with its ambitious flying car project, targeting large-scale deliveries by 2027.

Developed by its aviation arm AeroHT, the vehicle is a modular system that combines a ground-based electric vehicle with a detachable two-seater eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft).

The ground module acts as both a transport vehicle and a charging hub, with a driving range exceeding 1,000 km, while the flying unit can perform multiple flight cycles on a single charge.

XPeng has already received over 7,000 pre-orders, highlighting strong early demand for this next-generation transport solution.

Initial deliveries could begin as early as late 2026, but full-scale rollout depends heavily on aviation regulations and certification approvals.

As cities explore low-altitude mobility, XPeng’s flying car represents a major step toward integrating air travel into everyday urban transport, potentially transforming how people move in the future.
