Adani Power, India’s largest private power producer with a total generation capacity of 18.15 GW, announced that its subsidiary Moxie Power Generation Ltd. (MPGL) has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from the Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corp. (TNPDCL) to supply 558 MW (net) of power over five years.

Tuticorin Plant and Competitive Tariff
Moxie Power operates a 1,200 MW (2×600 MW) plant in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu, and emerged as the lowest bidder in a competitive auction by offering a tariff of Rs 5.910 per unit. Power supply is scheduled to begin 1 April 2026.
Secured Capacity and Revenue Visibility
With this agreement, both units of the Tuticorin plant now have power supply contracts, and over 95% of Adani Power’s operational capacity is covered under medium- to long-term PPAs. This ensures long-term revenue visibility and reduces exposure to short-term market fluctuations. The company aims to achieve near 100% PPA coverage for all operational and upcoming plants in the coming years.
Benefits to Tamil Nadu Consumers
The new agreement will provide reliable 558 MW power, enhancing grid stability and ensuring uninterrupted supply for households, businesses, and industries. With a competitive tariff, consumers are expected to benefit from more affordable and dependable electricity over the next five years.
