As part of his visit to engage with the expatriate community, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan arrived in Dubai for a two-day trip.

He was received by UAE Cabinet Affairs Minister Mohammed Al Gargawi.
During the visit, the Chief Minister held meetings with senior UAE ministers aimed at strengthening economic cooperation between Kerala and the UAE and exploring new areas of partnership.
The discussions included Cabinet Affairs Minister Mohammed Al Gargawi, Minister of Economic Tourism Abdullah Bin Thawq Al Marri, Minister of Foreign Trade Thani Bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Investment Office Badr Al Olama, and Undersecretary of the Department of Foreign Trade Fahad Al Gargawi.
This two-day UAE visit is part of the Chief Minister’s broader Gulf tour, which seeks to connect with Malayali expatriates in the Gulf region and attract investment to the state.
The primary focus of the meetings was to enhance economic ties. Both sides discussed opportunities for collaboration across multiple sectors. Kerala is preparing for the “Invest Kerala Global Summit” scheduled in February 2026, aiming to position itself as an investment-friendly state.
With over ten lakh Malayalis residing in the UAE, the country remains a key partner in Kerala’s economy through remittances and business linkages.
The discussions are expected to pave the way for mutually beneficial economic cooperation between Kerala and the UAE.
