Wipro Electronics is moving rapidly to strengthen India’s electronics manufacturing ecosystem with its upcoming ₹500 crore Printed Circuit Board (PCB) facility in Bengaluru North. The company has confirmed that the plant will become operational within the next nine months, marking a major milestone in its strategic expansion into high-value electronics production.

The new unit will focus on manufacturing high-reliability, multi-layer PCBs that cater to fast-growing industries such as telecommunications, electric vehicles, industrial automation, consumer electronics, defense systems, and emerging IoT devices. With PCB demand rising sharply across sectors, this facility is expected to play a crucial role in reducing India’s reliance on imported components, an area where the country currently faces significant dependency.

Wipro Electronics stated that the project aligns with the government’s push for electronics self-reliance, supporting initiatives like Make in India and Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes. The plant will incorporate advanced manufacturing lines, stringent quality controls and environmentally sustainable processes to meet global standards.

Beyond manufacturing capacity, the facility is also set to generate new employment opportunities for engineers, technicians and supply-chain professionals in Karnataka. The company aims to build a robust local ecosystem by collaborating with nearby suppliers, MSMEs and component partners.

With this investment, Wipro Electronics seeks to position itself as a key player in India’s growing PCB market, while contributing to the country’s transformation into a competitive global electronics hub.
