Vietnamese airline Sun PhuQuoc Airways is set to introduce direct flights between Ahmedabad and Phu Quoc Island from December 2026, offering Indian travellers a nonstop connection to the Vietnamese holiday destination. The route will mark the airline’s first direct service to India, with bookings already open.

The service is scheduled to begin on December 2, 2026, with five flights a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. The journey is expected to take around five hours and 25 minutes. The airline plans to increase the frequency to daily flights from early February 2027, subject to its operational schedule.
Flight Schedule and Introductory Fares
Flight 9G315 will depart Phu Quoc International Airport at 7:35 pm and arrive at Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport at 11:30 pm local time. The return flight, 9G314, is scheduled to leave Ahmedabad at 1 am and arrive in Phu Quoc at 7:15 am.
One-way fares from Ahmedabad to Phu Quoc start at ₹9,596, inclusive of taxes and fees. The introductory fare applies to the first four flights in each direction. The airline is also offering a 20% discount on base fares for eligible bookings made through its website or mobile app during the promotional period, subject to terms and conditions.
Travel Benefits for Indian Passengers
The airline is offering a complimentary travel package that includes Sun World Hon Thom cable car tickets, WOW Pass priority access and discounts of up to 30% on selected resorts, entertainment and leisure services in Phu Quoc.
The route will be operated using Airbus A321neo aircraft. The airline says fares include 23 kg of checked baggage and 7 kg of cabin baggage. Onboard meal options are designed to accommodate different passenger preferences, including vegetarian and halal meals.
Phu Quoc’s Growing Appeal Among Indian Tourists
Phu Quoc has attracted a growing number of Indian visitors in recent years. According to figures cited in the airline’s announcement, the island welcomed around 150,000 Indian tourists in 2025, an increase of 328% over the previous year. Vietnam received approximately 746,000 visitors from India during the same period.
The direct Ahmedabad connection is expected to make travel to the island more convenient by eliminating the need for connecting flights. From Phu Quoc, passengers can also access the airline’s network to destinations including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Nha Trang.
Expansion into the Indian Market
Ahmedabad is the first Indian destination in Sun PhuQuoc Airways’ expansion plans. The airline aims to introduce additional routes to Indian cities in the first quarter of 2027 as it expands its international network. Its fleet is expected to grow to 33 aircraft by the end of 2026 and 58 by the end of 2027.
The new route is expected to strengthen air connectivity between India and Vietnam while supporting tourism and business travel in both directions.
