Honda has officially launched the new CB500 in India, a premium modern-classic motorcycle that was first shown globally in the country in July. Prices start at Rs 2.75 lakh for the base Alloy variant.
The CB500 is available in three variants, with the top version priced at Rs 3.02 lakh.

The CB500 is positioned above Honda’s CB350 range in India and will be sold through Honda BigWing premium dealerships.
The motorcycle is also manufactured in India.
CB500 Design
The Honda CB500 follows a modern-classic design inspired by the CB350, with some styling cues from the 1969 Honda CB750.
It gets a larger fuel tank, ribbed seat, bigger fenders, a redesigned tail section and a larger exhaust compared with the CB350.
The motorcycle is offered in five colour options, including Black, Grey, Silver, Red and Black with Graphics.
Features and Equipment
The CB500 comes with a semi-digital instrument console and a slipper clutch.
Other features include selectable torque control and Honda RoadSync smartphone connectivity.
For suspension, the motorcycle gets telescopic forks at the front and gas-charged twin shock absorbers at the rear.
Braking is handled by disc brakes at both ends, with dual-channel ABS offered as standard. The CB500 rides on a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel.
Engine and Performance
The Honda CB500 is built on a new platform and is powered by a 501cc single-cylinder air/oil-cooled engine.
The engine is expected to produce around 28 bhp of power and 43 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 5-speed gearbox and gets a slip-and-assist clutch as standard.
Honda CB500 Rival
In India, the Honda CB500 will compete closely with the BSA Gold Star 650.
The BSA Gold Star 650 is priced from Rs 3.46 lakh ex-showroom, making it one of the key motorcycles in the same premium modern-classic segment.
