India and Uzbekistan have elevated their bilateral relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, marking a significant step in strengthening ties between India and the Central Asian nation.
The two countries signed multiple agreements and MoUs covering several areas of cooperation, including trade, investment, energy, connectivity, digital technology and education.
A uranium supply agreement was also signed, strengthening cooperation in the nuclear energy sector and adding a strategic dimension to the relationship.
India and Uzbekistan have set an ambitious target of taking bilateral trade to $5 billion by 2030, with both sides seeking to expand economic engagement and identify new areas of business cooperation.
The upgraded partnership is expected to deepen India’s engagement with Central Asia and create fresh opportunities in trade, energy, technology and connectivity.
