Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani has reflected on the lessons of adversity, the importance of trust and the responsibility of nation-building following the dismissal of the US Department of Justice criminal case against him.
Speaking during the second edition of Apni Baat, Apno Ke Saath, Adani said the experience strengthened his faith in the rule of law and reinforced the importance of humility, integrity and keeping one’s commitments.
Addressing more than three lakh employees and partners across over 700 locations, he linked the experience to a broader question: what legacy will the present generation leave as India moves towards Viksit Bharat?
Adani said adversity does not define character but reveals it, citing the Hindenburg allegations and subsequent DoJ proceedings as a period that tested the Group’s values. He also pointed to the decision to withdraw the ₹20,000 crore FPO as an example of prioritising trust over legal entitlement.
Looking ahead, he called on the Adani Parivar and its partners to build institutions rooted in integrity, resilience and service—institutions that can outlast individuals, expand opportunity and contribute to a stronger, more self-reliant India.
