Angelo Casimiro, a 15-year-old inventor from the Philippines, has developed innovative shoes that generate electricity from human footsteps. The design uses piezoelectric materials embedded in the shoe sole to convert the mechanical energy produced while walking or running into usable electrical energy.

The electricity generated can be stored in rechargeable batteries or capacitors and used to power small electronic devices such as smartphones, flashlights and wearable gadgets. The invention highlights how everyday human movement can be harnessed as a renewable energy source.
Casimiro’s project gained international recognition after becoming a finalist at the Google Science Fair and continues to inspire young innovators exploring sustainable technologies.
