Bengaluru-based Sarla Aviation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Flight Simulation Technique Centre (FSTC) to create a pilot training ecosystem for India’s emerging electric air taxi sector. The partnership aims to prepare pilots for operating electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, a key component of the country’s future urban air mobility network.

Under the agreement, Sarla Aviation and FSTC will jointly develop training programs, simulator-based learning modules, certification pathways, and operational readiness frameworks tailored for eVTOL aircraft. The collaboration is expected to address future demand for highly skilled pilots as air taxi services move closer to commercial deployment.
Sarla Aviation is developing electric flying taxis designed to ease urban congestion through short-distance aerial transportation. As the company advances its aircraft development and certification plans, pilot training is emerging as a critical element of building a safe and scalable air mobility ecosystem.
FSTC, one of India’s leading pilot training and simulation providers, brings expertise in commercial pilot training, flight simulators, and aviation certification programs. The organization operates extensive flight training infrastructure and has trained thousands of aviation professionals across the country.
The partnership highlights growing efforts within India’s aviation sector to build the talent, infrastructure, and regulatory frameworks needed to support next-generation transportation technologies. Industry observers view pilot readiness as a crucial step toward the successful launch of commercial eVTOL and air taxi services in the coming years.
