Three relatives of Santiago Martin, widely known as India’s “lottery king,” have come out on top in the latest assembly elections held in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

Leading the trio is Aadhav Arjuna Reddy, a close aide of actor-turned-politician Vijay and a key figure in the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). Contesting from Villivakkam, Arjuna won convincingly with a margin of 17,302 votes. He is married to Daisy Martin, Santiago Martin’s daughter, and also served as the party’s general secretary during the election campaign.
Santiago Martin’s wife, Leema Rose Martin, also secured a win, representing the Lalgudi constituency in Tamil Nadu on an AIADMK ticket. Despite facing strong competition from both DMK and TVK candidates, she managed to edge ahead with a narrow margin of around 2,500 votes.
Meanwhile, the newly formed Latchiya Jananayaka Katchi, part of the ruling NDA alliance, made a notable debut by winning one of the two seats it contested. The party was launched in December by Jose Charles Martin, Santiago Martin’s son, who contested from Kamaraj Nagar and won by a margin of 10,205 votes. Apart from his political role, he is also an entrepreneur.
