In a striking demonstration of technological progress, humanoid robots raced alongside humans at the Beijing half marathon and delivered record-breaking performances.

The standout robot, developed by Chinese tech firm Honor, completed the 21.1 km race in 50 minutes and 26 seconds, beating the human world record.

The event featured over 100 robot teams, with nearly half operating autonomously, highlighting rapid advances in AI, motion control, and robotics engineering.

This marks a dramatic improvement from the previous year, when the fastest robot took more than two and a half hours to complete the race.

Despite some glitches, such as robots stumbling or colliding, the overall performance impressed spectators and experts alike.

The race underscores China’s growing dominance in humanoid robotics and signals a future where machines could take on physically demanding tasks in industries ranging from manufacturing to emergency response.
