A senior Emirati diplomat has suggested that India could play a key role in easing tensions in the ongoing Iran–Israel conflict. Hussain Hassan Mirza, the first UAE Ambassador to India, said that a direct outreach from Narendra Modi could potentially help end the crisis.

Speaking in an interview with NDTV, Mirza said that the Indian prime minister commands significant respect across the Gulf region, not only among political leaders but also among business communities and the public. Because of this credibility, he believes Modi could influence both sides of the conflict.
“One phone call from Mr Modi to counterparts in Iran and Israel can solve this issue,” Mirza said, expressing confidence in India’s diplomatic standing with both countries.
Mirza also stressed that the United Arab Emirates does not want to be drawn into the conflict and will not allow its territory to be used as a base for attacks by either side. At the same time, he noted that the UAE’s position as a neighbour to Iran and a partner to Israel could allow it to help facilitate dialogue.
The remarks come amid escalating hostilities between Iran and Israel that have raised global concerns about regional stability, energy supplies, and trade routes across West Asia.
