In an interview with Channeliam, the Hon’ble Speaker of Kerala, A N Shamseer, spoke about the growing importance of technology and artificial intelligence in shaping education. He emphasized that AI has become an indispensable part of human life and noted that Kerala, including its start-up ecosystem, is making strides in embracing technological advancements.

Shamseer stressed the need to embed technology within the education system itself, enabling children to acquire practical skills in using modern tools. “The new generation of students is inherently tech-friendly,” he said, pointing out that children naturally understand how to navigate mobile devices, social media, and messaging apps. “When I give my phone to my son, he explores it fully,” he added.

Highlighting the role of educators, Shamseer warned that teachers must evolve alongside students’ technological abilities. “If the teacher community is not ready to travel along with the students, then they will be outdated. That is my point,” he said, urging the integration of technology into teaching methodologies to keep pace with the rapidly advancing digital world.

His comments underline a broader push for future-ready education in Kerala, where equipping students with tech skills is seen as essential for fostering innovation and maintaining competitiveness in the digital age.
