On September 29, three new Amrit Bharat Express trains will be flagged off, connecting Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Telangana. The trains are designed to provide passengers with safe, comfortable, and affordable travel.
- Muzaffarpur–Charlapalli (Hyderabad) – the first train connecting Muzaffarpur to South India.
- Darbhanga–Madar Junction (Ajmer) – a weekly service connecting Bihar to Rajasthan.
- Chhapra–Anand Vihar Terminal (Delhi) – the sixth Amrit Bharat Express linking Bihar to Delhi.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw will join the flag-off via video conferencing, alongside Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary. In addition to these, four passenger trains will also be inaugurated, bringing the total to seven new services.
About the Amrit Bharat Express
The Amrit Bharat Express has gained popularity among the middle-class population for its safe and affordable travel options. Currently, 12 trains operate nationwide, with 10 running from Bihar. After the addition of these three new services, the total will increase to 15 trains, with 13 operating from Bihar.
Key Train Details
Muzaffarpur–Charlapalli (Hyderabad)
- Departs Muzaffarpur every Tuesday at 10:40 am, reaching Charlapalli on Wednesday at 11:50 pm.
- Return from Charlapalli leaves Thursday at 4:05 am, reaching Muzaffarpur by Friday at 5 pm.
- Route includes Hajipur, Patliputra, Ara, Buxar, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction, Prayagraj Chheoki, Jabalpur, Itarsi, Nagpur, and Kazipet.
Chhapra–Delhi (Anand Vihar Terminal)
- Connects Chhapra to Delhi via Siwan, Thawe, Kaptanganj, Gorakhpur, Basti, Gonda, Aishbagh (Lucknow), and Kanpur.
Darbhanga–Madar Junction (Ajmer)
- Weekly train leaves Madar Junction Friday at 9:15 pm, reaching Darbhanga next day at 12:45 pm.
- Return departs Darbhanga Sunday at 4:15 am, arriving Monday at 1:20 pm.
- Stops include Kamtaul, Sitamarhi, Raxaul, Narkatiaganj, Gorakhpur, Gomti Nagar, Kanpur, Tundla, and Jaipur.

The Amrit Bharat Express trains are state-of-the-art, indigenous trains designed for comfort and safety. Key features include:

- Advanced technology now extended to non-AC coaches
These trains aim to strengthen Bihar’s connectivity with North and South India, promote economic activity, and boost tourism.
Additional Passenger Trains
Alongside the new Amrit Bharat Express services, four other passenger trains will start operations:
- Patna–Buxar
- Jhajha–Danapur
- Patna–Islampur
- Nawada–Patna via Sheikhpura–Barbigha
The Sheikhpura–Barbigha–Bihar Sharif route fulfills a long-standing demand of local passengers. These trains will run six days a week, excluding Sundays.
Vision for Bihar
According to the Railway Ministry, the launch of these new trains represents a step towards “Viksit Bihar Se Viksit Bharat” (Developed India through Developed Bihar), enhancing mobility, economic growth, and regional development.
