Actor and entrepreneur Suniel Shetty unveiled the inaugural chapter of “Kal Ke Krorepati” (KKK) in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. This pioneering initiative, spearheaded by Shetty, seeks to not only showcase but also support the country’s dynamic startup ecosystem. With Gujarat serving as the launchpad, plans are already underway to expand this model to other states in the near future.
A representative of the initiative highlighted its unique approach, describing KKK as an amalgamation of startups, venture capital funds, and investors. Far from being solely focused on fundraising, KKK aims to take a holistic approach towards fostering substantial economic growth in India.
The first chapter of KKK saw 500 startups from Gujarat vying for attention, leading to the selection of 27 promising ventures spanning various industries. Each of these startups was given the opportunity to pitch their ideas in a concise 3-minute live presentation before a panel consisting of nine venture capital funds and investors.
In a remarkable development, the inaugural season of KKK has already attracted expressions of interest (EOI) totalling around 15 crores from investors participating in the show. This significant investment underscores the attractiveness of Gujarat’s innovative endeavours to prominent investment entities and bodes well for the future of the state’s startup ecosystem.
Milapsinh Jadeja, a prominent figure in the entrepreneurial landscape as both a founder and angel investor, expressed confidence in KKK’s potential to invigorate Gujarat’s startup ecosystem and contribute to the broader Indian entrepreneurial landscape.
Suniel Shetty, a well-known Bollywood personality, entrepreneur, and investor, lent his support to the initiative during its curtain-raising event. He emphasized the importance of nurturing fresh ideas and fostering a collaborative community conducive to economic advancement. Shetty lauded KKK as a commendable endeavor that would cultivate a thriving ecosystem of startups and investors, thereby making a meaningful contribution to economic development.
The KKK initiative is poised to make significant strides in contributing to economic progress by unlocking novel opportunities across diverse sectors such as technology, education, travel, healthcare, and hospitality. With its successful launch in Gujarat and plans for expansion, KKK is set to play a pivotal role in driving innovation and fostering entrepreneurship in India’s startup ecosystem.
