The “world’s tallest tower,” the Burj Mubarak, will shortly be built in Kuwait. The one-kilometer-tall tower will be the major attraction of Madinat Al Hareer, or Silk City, in Kuwait, and will be built in the city’s core. Madinat Al Hareer is projected to be finished by 2023.
According to another Business Insider source, the Burj Mubarak megaproject will take roughly 25 years to complete and will be composed of three interlocking, twisting structures to protect it from 150 mph winds and consequent tremors. The skyscraper’s height is also said to be an “intentional tribute to the all-time famous folk tales’ collection 1001 Arabian Nights.”
Burj Mubarak will have 234 stories and will be able to accommodate 7,000 people. According to the article, development of the Burj Mubarak would begin after the Jaber Causeway is completed. “It would be the tallest building in Kuwait, and its planned height exceeds that of the world’s current tallest building, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.” (828 meters). However, it is not now the highest under-construction structure in the world,” according to the study. In addition, the skyscraper will have seven vertical towns with hotels, homes, workplaces, and entertainment activities. According to projections, the city will get KD 25 billion in investment, which will benefit the national economy by diversifying income streams.
It is planned to provide 430,000 employment opportunities for locals and investment possibilities for both domestic and international enterprises. The project will entail a strategic collaboration of the public and commercial sectors and will contribute to the architectural boom. The city will have a population of over 700,000 inhabitants.
Madinat Al Hareer will have “four distinct quarters, each with its own city center,” according to real estate firm Tamdeen Group. Finance City, Leisure City, Ecological City, and Residential City are all planned to meet the highest worldwide standards, with a particular emphasis on educational and cultural facilities, resulting in a totally integrated solution for this contemporary city.”
