What is Mykare?
Mykare is a startup working in the healthcare sector. Kicked off with just three people, the company now has more than 30 employees. Most of the hospitals in India have limitations. They struggle with visibility, marketing, and resource utilization. These hospitals are usually controlled by a doctor, a group of doctors, or an organisation. Such hospitals will be able to reach only a small section of people in society. At the same time, ordinary patients might be looking for more reasonable hospital facilities. This is where Mykare comes as an aid to hospitals and patients. At Mykare, there is transparency in payments, insurance, and all.
Accolades and Future plans
The first milestone was the pre-incubation offer from IIT Madras. Later, the company was selected for NASCOM’s virtual incubation. Delhi-based Acceleration Company also selected Mykare for incubation. After that, Mykare applied at Silicon Valley-based Y Combinator, and On Tech, and got selected in the first cohort of On Tech. Inc 42 magazine selected Mykare as the best startup in 2022.
As of now, about 10 hospitals in Chennai follow the business model of Mykare. The plan is to extend its service to the states like Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Kerala. The first phase includes increasing the demand. In the second phase, touch points of Mykare will begin in metro cities. This will let patients do both consultation and treatment through Mykare counters. Only surgery will be carried out through other arrangements that associate with Mykare.
