TRUMPF, a global leader in industrial machine tools and laser technology, has launched its first manufacturing plant in India, located at Nighoje, Pune, Maharashtra. This move underscores the company’s commitment to India’s growing manufacturing sector.
A Strategic Investment in India’s Manufacturing Future
Stephan Mayer, CEO of Machine Tools and Member of the Management Board at TRUMPF Germany, called the new Pune facility an investment in India’s future as a global manufacturing hub. This plant represents a major step in TRUMPF’s localisation efforts to serve India’s expanding industrial market more effectively.

Initial Production and Future Plans
The plant will start by producing the TruBend 1000 series bending machines. TRUMPF plans to begin localised production of the TruLaser 1000 series laser machines by 2025. These products aim to improve supply chain efficiency, cut lead times, and provide advanced sheet metal processing solutions customized for Indian industries.
Full Operations Expected by 2025
Pradeep Patil, Managing Director of TRUMPF India, highlighted that by 2025, the plant will have fully operational assembly, testing, quality assurance, and logistics functions. He described this as a proud achievement for the entire Indian team.
Significant Investment to Boost Local Manufacturing
TRUMPF has invested over five million euros (approximately Rs 45 crore) to strengthen India’s manufacturing ecosystem and establish itself as a key local manufacturing partner. This investment signals confidence in India’s industrial growth and future opportunities.
