Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, spoke at the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, urging students to prepare for leadership roles in India’s development.
Adani emphasized that the future will be unpredictable and require new approaches. He encouraged students to focus on conviction, responsibility, creativity, and integrity rather than following traditional paths.
Sharing his own experience, Adani talked about starting his career in diamond trading, building India’s largest commercial port at Mundra, developing energy projects in Australia and the Khavda desert, and working on the redevelopment of Dharavi slums. Each project involved significant challenges and required persistence.

He stressed that education should equip students to deal with uncertainty and take risks. Adani pointed to India’s demographic advantage, economic growth, digital infrastructure, and domestic capital as opportunities for the coming decades.
He concluded by asking students to prioritize character, contribution, and courage in their careers.
The speech aimed to inspire students to actively participate in shaping India’s future.
