A Malayalee startup shined in the season 1 of India’s notable business reality show, Shark Tank India. The Malayalee youths asked shark tank investors 50 lakh for 5% equity and got Rs 60 lakh in the final deal.
Kochi-based agritech company Brainwired is the startup that has caught the attention of investors. Ashneer Grover, Peyush Bansal, Namita Thapar and Aman Gupta invested in Brainwired. Brainwired founders Sreeshankar S Nair and Romeo P Jerard promote animal health through their startup .
Romeo and Sreeshankar had the dream of becoming entrepreneurs while studying engineering at the TalkH Institute of Science and Technology in Kochi. They worked in Jio and Byju’s for a year before launching Brainwired. Brainwired was launched in February 2018. The product of Brainwired Startup is WeSTOCK, a tracking system that monitors livestock health and alerts farmers.
The product has an ear tag based on Internet of Things and a centralized reader for data collection. It helps in identifying diseased and pregnant cattle and alerting the farmers accordingly. Online support is also provided for consultation if the farmer has any queries. The startup was first incubated at the Kerala Startup Mission. Support from Gurugram-based incubator Huddle helped raise funds for Brainwired startup.
