Tracking Musk’s jet
Jack Sweeney is a 19-year-old freshman at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. Recently, he was in the spotlight for tracking Elon Musk’s jet movements. In 2020, using public data from plane transponders that log longitude, latitude and altitude, Sweeney had built an algorithm. The algorithm has been used to calculate the whereabouts of Musk’s jet ‘Gulfstream G650ER’.
Musk’s offer
Musk had asked him to shut down his Twitter account and offered him $5,000 for the same. However, Sweeney made a counter-offer asking Musk to raise it to $50,000. Following the private jets of billionaire entrepreneurs and some celebrities is Sweeny’s hobby.
