Stellantis and Samsung SDI will produce electric vehicles battery cells and modules in the US.

Stellantis had signed a similar agreement with South Korea’s LG Energy Solution.

Automakers are investing billions to accelerate a transition to low-emission mobility. 

Stellantis will invest over 30 bn euros through 2025 on electrifying its vehicle line-up.

Stellantis aims to secure 130 GWh of global battery capacity by 2025 and 260 GWh by 2030.

Its brands include Peugeot, Fiat, Opel and U.S. best-sellers Jeep and Ram.

The firm aims to have more than 70% of its sales in Europe be of low-emission vehicles.

The Stellantis-Samsung SDI venture aims to start operations by the first half of 2025.
