Amid news of layoffs, Indian low-cost airline Akasa Air has announced that it will be recruiting nearly 1,000 people by the end of March 2024. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has said that the government will introduce new technologies including GPS-based toll collection systems to replace the existing highway toll plazas in the country within the next 6 months. A plan to establish three science parks close to the airports in Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, and Kannur has been approved by the State Government.
