Akrit Pran Jaswal, born on April 23, 1993, in Nurpur, Himachal Pradesh, is known globally as the world’s youngest surgeon. He performed a surgery at just 7 years old on an 8-year-old burn victim, a rare feat that brought him international recognition. From a very young age, Akrit displayed remarkable intelligence—he started walking and talking by ten months and was reading and writing by the age of two.

By the time he was 12, Akrit had become India’s youngest university student, and at 13, he gained global attention through an appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show. He had an IQ of 146 and was already deeply involved in research, especially in the area of cancer studies. His academic journey included conducting scientific research at Chandigarh University and later studying bioengineering at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur.

Mentored by senior educators in Dharamshala, Akrit’s drive and intellect made him a standout prodigy. By age 17, he was pursuing a master’s degree in chemistry, marking a rare path of academic excellence from an early age.
