The Hinduja Group has announced plans to invest ₹2,500 crore across various businesses in Tamil Nadu, focusing on renewable energy, electric mobility, automotive, financial services and other emerging sectors.

The group said the investment reflects its confidence in Tamil Nadu’s industrial strength and its potential to play a major role in India’s transition towards clean energy and electric mobility.
Investment to Cover Multiple Sectors
The planned investment will cover renewable energy, electric vehicles, automotive businesses, financial services, energy projects, battery charging infrastructure and digital mobility solutions.
Hinduja Group of Companies (India) Chairman Ashok Hinduja said the ₹2,500 crore commitment demonstrates the group’s confidence in Tamil Nadu and its intention to contribute to the state’s next phase of economic growth.
He highlighted Tamil Nadu’s strong industrial base, skilled talent and renewable energy potential as key factors supporting the group’s investment plans.
Over 200 MW Renewable Energy Projects
A major part of the investment will focus on renewable energy.
Hinduja Renewables Energy Pvt Ltd (HREPL) plans to develop more than 200 MW of renewable energy projects in Tamil Nadu. The projects will include solar and wind power, along with battery-based energy technologies.
The initiative is expected to strengthen the group’s presence in the state’s clean energy sector while supporting the broader shift towards renewable power.
Focus on Electric Mobility
Electric mobility will also be a major area of investment for the Hinduja Group.
OHM Global Mobility Ltd plans to introduce electric buses for public transport in Tamil Nadu and expand its wider mobility solutions business in the state.
The group will also explore opportunities in battery charging infrastructure and digital mobility solutions as part of its broader electric mobility strategy.
Hinduja Group Expands Its Tamil Nadu Presence
The group plans to explore additional opportunities across automotive, financial services, energy and other emerging sectors.
Hinduja Group companies already operating in Tamil Nadu include Ashok Leyland, Gulf Oil India, Hinduja Leyland Finance, Hinduja Housing Finance, Switch Mobility, OHM Mobility, Gro Digital and Hinduja Tech.
Ashok Hinduja said the group looks forward to strengthening its long-standing relationship with Tamil Nadu and working with the state government to create long-term value through investments in clean energy, electric mobility and other emerging industries.
The ₹2,500 crore investment plan is expected to further expand the Hinduja Group’s presence in Tamil Nadu while supporting the state’s renewable energy and electric mobility ambitions.
