Indian Expat Wins Dh25 Million After 100 Attempts

Ashik Patinharath, an Indian expat in Sharjah, wins Dh25 million in Big Ticket’s Abu Dhabi draw after buying 100 tickets over 10 years

Ashik Patinharath, an Indian expat living in Sharjah for 19 years, has won the Dh25 million grand prize in Big Ticket’s series 271 draw held in Abu Dhabi. Unlike many winners who split the prize, Patinharath will keep the full amount.

He had been trying his luck for 10 years, purchasing around 100 tickets. This time, he bought six tickets online, and ticket number 456808 finally brought him victory. “It’s yet to sink in. I’ve always bought tickets on my own, and now, for the first time, I’ve won,” said the 38-year-old from Kerala.

A Life-Changing Moment

Patinharath, who works in real estate managing properties, was initially doubtful when he received the call from the show hosts. “I was on a call with my family in Kozhikode when I got the news. Given my profession, I’m always cautious about scams,” he shared.

Now, with Dh25 million in his hands, he plans to expand his presence in the real estate industry. His family, including his wife, three children, two sisters, and parents, are celebrating his big win. “I always dreamed of growing in real estate, and now I can make it happen,” he said.

Despite winning, he intends to keep buying tickets and encourages others to do the same. “For those who haven’t won yet, keep trying—one day, luck will find you.”

Emirati Winner Takes Home a BMW

Meanwhile, Mohamed AlZarooni, a 39-year-old Emirati IT Manager, won a BMW M440i in the ‘Dream Car’ draw. He started purchasing tickets just five months ago after hearing about Big Ticket from a friend.

“When I got the call, I was thrilled! I haven’t decided yet if I’ll keep the car or sell it, but this win has only motivated me more. Now, I’m aiming for the grand prize,” he said.

AlZarooni encourages others to try their luck. “My friends always say they won’t win, so they don’t buy tickets. But I tell them, if you don’t try, you’ll never know.”

Big Ticket’s Upcoming Draws

The next Big Ticket draw is set for March 3, with a Dh20 million grand prize. Weekly e-draws offer Dh250,000, and the ‘Big Win’ contest provides additional cash prizes. Those purchasing two or more tickets in one transaction by February 23 can attend the live draw and win guaranteed prizes ranging from Dh20,000 to Dh150,000.

Tickets are available online and at Zayed International Airport and Al Ain Airport counters.
