NASA astronaut Anil Menon is set to undertake his first-ever spacewalk outside the International Space Station (ISS) next week, marking a significant milestone in his journey as a space explorer.
During the extravehicular activity (EVA), Menon will participate in critical maintenance work and scientific operations aimed at supporting the ISS’s long-term functioning and ongoing research missions.

Anil Menon, an Indian-origin physician, engineer and former SpaceX flight surgeon, was selected as a NASA astronaut in 2021. Since then, he has undergone extensive training for human spaceflight and spacewalk operations.
His upcoming EVA represents an important achievement in his career and highlights the growing contributions of Indian-origin professionals to global space exploration. The mission is also expected to inspire future generations interested in science, technology and space research.
