A recent video showing an Ola Electric customer smashing his scooter with a hammer has gone viral. The man, frustrated over an alleged ₹90,000 bill, can be seen in the video dressed in a white T-shirt and blue jeans, relentlessly striking the scooter in front of an Ola showroom. Soon, others join him, causing significant damage to the vehicle.
The incident has sparked widespread discussions on social media, with many questioning Ola’s customer service and billing practices.
Kunal Kamra Slams Ola Electric
Comedian Kunal Kamra also took a dig at Ola Electric and CEO Bhavish Aggarwal. Kamra posted a picture of numerous scooters at an Ola service center, alleging poor after-sales support.
Kamra highlighted the struggles faced by Indian consumers, particularly daily wage workers dependent on two-wheelers. “Do Indian consumers have a voice? Do they deserve this?” he asked, urging better customer care from Ola.
CEO Bhavish Aggarwal Hits Back
Responding to Kamra’s criticism, Bhavish Aggarwal suggested that Kamra’s tweet might be a paid promotion. He urged Kamra to stay quiet, claiming the company is rapidly expanding its service network to address customer issues. Aggarwal assured that pending complaints would be resolved soon.
Call for Government Intervention
Kamra also tagged Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, urging government action. He stressed that some Ola customers face financial hardships, even taking loans to manage issues they believe stem from Ola’s service problems.
A Humorous Twist
Amidst the heated debate, industrialist Harsh Goenka added a touch of humor. Sharing a picture of himself on an Ola e-scooter, he joked, “If I have to travel short distances, say from one ‘kamra’ to another, I use my Ola.”
The incident continues to draw attention, raising questions about Ola Electric’s customer service and industry standards.
