Aishwarya Sheoran’s journey is a remarkable tale of ambition, versatility, and determination. From the glitzy world of beauty pageants to the challenging corridors of civil services, she defied expectations and carved a unique path. Despite her success as a model and a finalist in the Femina Miss India 2016 pageant, Aishwarya never lost sight of her true goal, to serve her country as an IAS officer. Her transition from a beauty queen to a respected civil servant showcases not only her talent but also her unwavering commitment to her dreams.
Early Life and Academic Excellence
Aishwarya Sheoran was born in Rajasthan, but her academic and professional life took shape in Delhi. A dedicated student, she attended Sanskriti School in Chanakyapuri, where her academic brilliance was evident from an early age. She excelled in her 12th-grade exams, achieving an outstanding 97.5% score. This academic success paved the way for her to pursue a degree in Commerce at the prestigious Shri Ram College of Commerce in Delhi, further solidifying her educational foundation.
A Step into the Modelling World
Although Aishwarya had always envisioned a career in the administrative services, her mother had different aspirations for her. She encouraged Aishwarya to enter the world of beauty pageants, hoping to see her daughter crowned as Miss India. This led Aishwarya to venture into modelling, where she quickly made her mark. In 2014, she was named Delhi’s Clean and Clear Face Fresh, and in 2015, she won the Miss Delhi title. Her modelling career reached new heights when she became a finalist in the Femina Miss India 2016 pageant, fulfilling her mother’s dream.
Transition to Civil Services
Despite her success in the modelling world, Aishwarya remained committed to her original goal of joining the civil services. In 2018, she made the bold decision to shift her focus entirely to preparing for the UPSC exams. Unlike many aspirants who opt for coaching classes, Aishwarya chose to rely on self-study, dedicating ten intense months to her preparation. Her hard work and determination paid off when she secured the 93rd rank in the UPSC All India rankings in her very first attempt, earning her a place in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS).
A New Chapter in Public Service
After clearing the UPSC exam, Aishwarya was faced with a significant decision—she had also been selected for admission to IIM Indore. However, her passion for public service prevailed, and she chose to join the IAS. She is now serving at the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) in India, where she continues to build her career as a civil servant.
Aishwarya Sheoran’s journey from a beauty queen to an IAS officer is a testament to her determination, resilience, and ability to excel in diverse fields. Her story inspires countless aspirants, proving that with hard work, focus, and dedication, one can achieve success in any chosen path.
