Swedish home furnishings retailer IKEA is set to open its second store in Bengaluru on November 5, 2026, expanding its presence in South Bengaluru nearly four-and-a-half years after launching its first large-format outlet in the city.

Located at Purva Zentech on Kanakapura Main Road, the new store covers 80,000 square feet and is within walking distance of Konanakunte Cross Metro Station. It will offer more than 5,200 products, with over 3,000 items available for immediate takeaway.
Customers will also be able to access IKEA’s complete range of more than 7,000 products through in-store ordering, its website, mobile app and Shop by Phone service.
New Store to Serve South Bengaluru
The new outlet is designed to bring IKEA’s home furnishing products and services closer to customers in South Bengaluru and neighbouring areas. Its product range will cater to changing urban housing needs, including compact apartments, independent homes and multi-generational households.
The store will also feature a 100-seater IKEA Restaurant offering Swedish favourites and local food options, adding to the shopping experience.
IKEA India CEO Patrik Antoni said Bengaluru has played an important role in the company’s journey in India. Customer insights gathered over the past five years have helped the company understand local lifestyles and changing home furnishing preferences.
He added that the second store marks an important milestone in improving accessibility and convenience for customers.
IKEA’s Bengaluru Journey
IKEA entered Bengaluru through e-commerce in 2021 before opening its first physical store in the city at Nagasandra in June 2022. Spread across approximately 4.6 lakh square feet, the Nagasandra outlet was the company’s first physical store in Karnataka.
The retailer has since built a strong customer base in the city, with more than 9 lakh IKEA Family members in Bengaluru.
IKEA’s Retail Expansion in India
The Bengaluru launch is part of IKEA India’s wider omnichannel expansion strategy, combining large-format stores, smaller city-centre outlets and digital shopping channels.
The company currently operates large-format stores in Hyderabad, Navi Mumbai and Bengaluru, alongside city stores in Mumbai, Delhi and Pune.
With its new South Bengaluru outlet, IKEA is looking to reach more urban consumers through a smaller retail format that offers product discovery, immediate purchases and access to its wider catalogue.
The expansion comes amid growing demand for organised home furnishing retail in India, where changing lifestyles, urban housing patterns and rising interest in functional home solutions are creating opportunities for international and domestic brands.
