Fab Labs are special places dedicated to helping people turn their ideas into real products. Recently, Fab Lab Kochi hosted a graduation ceremony to celebrate individuals who succeeded in transforming their concepts into tangible items. The ceremony showcased the products created by students and took place at the Kerala Startup Mission, Kochi. The event was attended by notable guests such as Shivan Santosh, Founder and CEO of Neytt Homes, and Nimisha Srinivas, the Chief Creative Officer of the company.
Fab Labs: Empowering Innovation
Fab Labs provide the essential resources and spaces needed for individuals to develop their skills and bring their product ideas to life. These labs began at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and have since expanded worldwide. The first Fab Lab in India was established in Kerala, under the Startup Mission. Fab Labs are designed to support product creation by offering the tools and training needed for innovation.
Fab Academy: Bridging the Skills Gap
To support the creation of new products, Fab Academy was created to provide training programs. Its core philosophy is summarized by the motto, “How to Make Almost Anything.” The Fab Academy course in Kochi follows this philosophy with a six-month program called “Digital Principles and Practice of Digital Fabrication.” This course includes learning 3D design and printing, helping students turn their ideas into products ready for the market.
Inclusive Learning Opportunity
A standout feature of this course is its inclusivity. It is open to individuals of all ages, from ten-year-olds to graduates, allowing anyone with a passion for creating to join and benefit from the program. You can learn more and join by visiting Fab Academy’s website.https://fabacademy.org/
