Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Jio has launched “JioTag Air,” a sleek and efficient item tracker designed to help users keep track of their valuables. This versatile device can be attached to commonly misplaced items such as keys, ID cards, wallets, purses, luggage, and even pets, positioning itself as a home-grown alternative to Apple’s AirTag.
JioTag Air is compatible with both Apple and Android ecosystems, broadening its appeal. Apple users can pair the JioTag Air with the Apple Find My app, which utilizes a secure Bluetooth signal detectable by nearby Apple devices, including iPhones, iPads, and Macs. This vast network of millions of Apple devices worldwide ensures that the JioTag Air can be located anywhere, with its location updated in real-time on the Find My app.
For Android users, the JioThings App offers similar tracking capabilities. As more devices join the JioThings network, including JioMotive, JioTag, JioBook, LTE Smartwatches, and other upcoming IoT products, the community find network continues to grow, enhancing the effectiveness of JioTag Air’s tracking features.
Key Features and Benefits
1. Seamless Tracking: JioTag Air can be attached to any item and tracked using either the Apple Find My app or the JioThings App.
2. Global Coverage: Apple users benefit from the extensive Find My network, which leverages millions of Apple devices worldwide.
3. Community Support: The JioThings App allows Android users to tap into a growing network of Jio devices for enhanced tracking.
4. Easy Sharing: Apple users can share their tagged items with other Apple users for collaborative tracking.
5. Loud Sound Alert: A sound ranging from 90-120 dB helps users locate tagged items nearby.
6. Disconnection Alerts: Users receive alerts if the tagged item is left behind.
7. Lost Mode: Automatically notifies users when a lost item is detected within the Find My network.
8. Extra Battery and Lanyard Cable: JioTag Air includes an extra battery and lanyard cable, unlike Apple’s AirTag.
When a tagged item is far away, users can follow directions to the last updated location via the Find My app. Once within Bluetooth range, JioTag Air will automatically connect to the user’s phone, and the Play Sound feature can be activated to easily locate the item.
JioTag Air is the successor to last year’s JioTag, with significant updates. The new device supports Bluetooth 5.3 (compared to JioTag’s Bluetooth 5.2) and offers compatibility with Apple’s Find My network, enhancing its connectivity and utility. Notably, JioTag Air is also priced more affordably than its predecessor.
