Zypp Electric has emerged as one of India’s biggest startup success stories after being rejected on Shark Tank India. When founders Akash Gupta and Rashi Agarwal appeared on the show, they sought ₹2.2 crore for 1% equity, valuing the company at ₹220 crore. The investors declined the offer, questioning the startup’s ambitious growth plans.
Undeterred, the founders continued expanding their EV-as-a-Service model for last-mile deliveries. From operating fewer than 2,000 electric scooters at the time of the pitch, Zypp Electric has grown its fleet to more than 21,000 electric scooters, serving major e-commerce, grocery and quick-commerce platforms across multiple Indian cities.

The startup has also attracted strong investor backing, raising capital from leading venture firms and achieving a valuation of more than ₹3,000 crore. Its rapid growth reflects the increasing demand for electric mobility solutions driven by India’s expanding logistics and quick-commerce sectors.
Today, Zypp Electric’s journey is widely seen as an example of how resilience, execution and market timing can turn a televised rejection into one of India’s most successful EV startup stories.
