Ashneer Grover, co-founder of BharatPe and former judge on Shark Tank India, is reentering the fintech realm with the launch of ZeroPe, a new app dedicated to facilitating medical loans. Currently in its testing phase, ZeroPe falls under the umbrella of Third Unicorn, a venture initiated by Grover following his tenure at BharatPe.
After departing from BharatPe, Grover, along with his wife Madhuri Jain Grover and entrepreneur Aseem Ghavri, established Third Unicorn in January 2023. The company made its initial foray into the competitive market with CrickPe, a fantasy gaming platform positioned to compete with industry giants such as Dream11 and Mobile Premier League (MPL).
Third Unicorn secured a $3.5 million seed funding round following the launch of CrickPe.
ZeroPe aims to meet the pressing need for accessible medical financing by providing instant pre-approved loans of up to Rs 5 lakhs. The service, in partnership with Delhi-based NBFC Mukut Finvest, is exclusively available at affiliated hospitals.
ZeroPe joins a growing roster of businesses focused on simplifying healthcare financing, including SaveIn, Qube Health, and Mykare Health, among others.
India’s digital healthcare sector is poised for significant growth, with estimates projecting a market potential of $37 billion by 2030. Healthcare financing is expected to make a substantial contribution of $5 billion within this landscape. Startups like ZeroPe are leading the way in leveraging data-driven solutions to integrate hospital networks, health insurance providers, and government healthcare schemes, with the goal of offering comprehensive care management across various healthcare needs.
